If you live in the Alyth area and use oil for your heating, then a new initiative from Alyth Development Trust could help with increasing energy bills from now on.
ADT is sponsoring a new Alyth Heating Oil Buying Group, which will work with Johnston Oils, a reputable supplier of heating oil and commercial and agricultural fuel across Scotland and northern England. The Club will enable individual consumers to join together and buy their heating oil in bulk, reducing their fuel costs and also helping the environment by allowing Johnston Oils to plan more efficient delivery routes.
Johnston Oils already manages around 180 community heating oil clubs across their area, helping thousands of households save money.
Under the scheme, Johnston Oils will deliver heating oil to customers at bulk prices. They will do all collation of orders, processing of invoices to individual members, and delivery of the oil. Depending on the number of households taking part and the average purchase per household, the scheme could offer significant savings.
Customers taking part in the scheme would have the opportunity to buy on a monthly basis with the dates for ordering and delivery publicised well in advance. If you use oil for your heating and are interested in taking advantage of this, the first ‘window’ for placing your order is the week 10-14 October, with deliveries scheduled for the week after.
For further information and to join in the scheme, please contact oilbuying@alyth.online as soon as possible.
